Neat Salt and Peppers

Got the market in on Friday, average kinda day, didn't get rich. Bought a few goodies, several safety razors, some neat photos of advertising displays etc. Just peeked in the box, a they look kinda cool. Sold some stuff, made some space in the truck, not much though. Came home and worked on salt and peppers to add to the shop and other stuff.

No yards sales around here today, so guess I'll spend some time adding stuff to the shop. Looks like good weather for the market on Sunday.

Spoon and Fork Salt, Pepper Shakers
A neat set of anthropomorphic (like that word) spoon and fork salt, pepper shakers (1950's). Look to be a brown glazed, red earthenware, 4-1/2 inches tall. Blue and white Japan paper label. Nice condition, no chips or cracks.


Tree Stump Salt and Pepper Shakers
Vintage set of tree stump salt and pepper shakers, green with browns. shaker holes on the back. Approx. 1-1/4 by 2-3/4, has a clover like mark with Japan. Nice condition, no chips or cracks.


Turkey Salt and Pepper Shakers, Bisque
Set of turkey salt and pepper shakers, cream and gold colored bisque. Approx. 4-1/4 in. tall. Blue and white Japan paper label. Nice condition, no chips or cracks. Price includes USA shipping.

A set of wooden 'Salty - Peppy' salt and pepper shakers with cat faces. Salty - Peppy on their hats. Have squeakers that 'don't'. About 4-1/4 inches tall.


Kitsch 'Miami Beach' Salt and Peppers
A pair of very kitsch 'Miami Beach' salt and peppers, encrusted with tiny sea shells. About 3-1/4 in. tall.


Mr. Peanut Salt and Pepper Shakers
A pair of light blue plastic Planters, Mr. Peanut salt and pepper shakers. No cracks or chips but glue seams are prominent. Shakers are 4 inches tall, cork stoppers. Planters / Made in USA on base.

Hey feel a bit more alive today, totally wiped out on Monday and Tuesday. About 80% of my normal energy levels. Still looking a t 150+ sets of salt and pepper shakers that I have to photograph and write up for the shop but not ready for that yet. Porcelain moustache cup, no saucer, probably Victorian era. Floral design with gold trim. Has wear on the gold. Has number 1066 on bottom. Right handed.


Alexandra Pottery, Manning Bowman, Burslem, England Teapot
Vintage black earthenware teapot with gold trimming, flower designs with raised dot petals. Hinged metal lid and a tinned foot. Marked: Alexandra Pottery, Manning Bowman, Burslem, England, No. 37. Approx. 8 in. handle to tip of spout. 6 inches in height. Haven't tried to clean the lid, left it as we found it. No chips or cracks, just normal wear from usage.

Not Much Done

Went to the market Sunday am, slow start but got better. Weather was nice so I think we lost customers to the beach, close by, few miles or the other things to do. Was out of there about 1pm, got home and realizled I was sorta wiped out, thought it was the sun. No chemo on Monday but had to go in for lab work and turned out my blood plateletswere at about 50% of what they should be and bloods counts low. Had to go back later in the day to get a bag of platlets pumped in plus a shot and back today for another shot. Guess that's where my energy went.

Tuesday back for another shot and got a little bit done, but spend most of the day on the couch. Hopefully I get soimething done today, stuff is piled up.

Well we pulled it off on Friday, weather was iffy early but got better. It scared some customers away but we made a day out of it. Picked up a collection of about 150 salt and pepper shakers that I bought over the phone. Just peeked as I was reboxing into smaller boxes when I got home, looks liks an interesting load. Now to get to working on them. Probally just do them little by little and add to the shop. Hit a few yard sales today but mostly a dry run, hey it happens.

Added a bunch of vintage kitchen utensils to the shop the other day. Also need to work on more vintage safety razors.

Gonna be up early Sunday morn and off to the market, got a pretty nice load in the truck. Prob goning to get hot so will set up accordingly.

Hey this is our 600th post here on the blog, maybe should have a party.

Early start this morning, picked up a nice load for sunday's flea market, oil painting, B&H lamp base, large oriental vase, early glass oil lamp base w/ the font, lots of kitchenware, costume jewelry, kerosene lanterns, several crocks / jugs, large oriental vase, some jadite and other neat stuff. Had a full day in by 11:30 am. Did some rearranging of the storage unit to put it in there for a few days. Want to bring a load of more lower end and sorta blowout stuff Friday, tables are cheaper and maybe can lose a few boxes of stuff. Also have to pick up a load of salt and peppers I bought over the phone the other day, about 150 sets or more. Space is getting tighter.
