Decided it was gonna be too much like winter out there this morning so didn't go to the market. Sunday looks like a nicer day and will be there at the Collingswood Flea Market doing my thing, whatever that is. We went to a few yard sales today (was cold and windy), picked a nice old mop wringer bucket, wooden washboard, old printers tray and a couple of other things. Still love that country, primitive stuff. actually my main likes are vintage kitchen, country & primitive stuff and old advertising tins.
Hopefully tomorrow there will be another couple of good yards sales out there.

Worked on adding mo' stuff to the shop during the week. Did some selling, but slower than last week, guess I'll have to add more. Can do. Probably should move this stuff piled up against the baseboard heater next to my desk before I have to turn it on. Good idea, not that easy.

Heisey Peerless Celery Vase
A nice vintage Heisey celery in I believe the Peerless pattern. The celery is approx. 5-3/4 inches tall, and 4 inches in diameter. Has some minor wear chips on several of the tips of the lower points, which are next to impossible to photograph. Otherwise very nice condition.


Fenton Silver Crest Basket
Nice Fenton Silver Crest basket approx. 8 inches in diameter and 6-3/4 inches to top of handle. Unmarked, no chips or cracks. A nice piece of Fenton art glass.

Antique Wooden Lemon Squeezer
Antique wooden lemon squeezer, each half is carved from one piece of wood, looks like a trace of bark on one edge. Has metal hinges, eyehook on end of one handle. Total length is 10-1/2 inches. Nice addition to your antique, primitive kitchenware collection.

Started out this morning as winter 33* but worked it's way up to 60* a little afternoon, figured today was the nicest day of the according to the weather page. So I was off to my storage unit to sort more stuff. Actually I'm slowly accomplishing getting rid of stuff I don't know why I had to start with. Lots of stuff going into box lots for the auction. Time for someone else to own them. There must have been a reason I bought the items in the first place, I think. Then maybe they just grew in the boxes, stuff does that in dark places. But have found some neat stuff I'd forgotten about.

Loaded the van for Friday at the flea market if the weather holds, probably go as long as it's not raining.

Vintage Enamelware, Kitchenware other collectibles

Up and out early this AM, got to the market a little before 5 am. was about 35 dealers partially set up and a bunch of other walking around. Went a claimed a few tables for myself and a couple for Jeff who sets up next to me. Was dark, dark and darker than usual. We wandered around for an hour or more, I bought a few things early and then wandered for what seemed like forever, finally went back and put a few items on the tables and took another spin around. Bought some more stuff, razors, shaving brush, shaving mug, some assorted paper, postcards and other goodies. Decided I needed to unload and sell some of what was stuffed into my van, helps pay for what I bought.

Was kinda slow selling but did manage to move some merch. Looks like rain Sunday so hung out later to make a few extra sales and repack tighter, lost a few boxes, which is good. Yard sales look sorta scarce tomorrow, they're calling to showers etc. So it looks like a weekend of working on the shop. Maybe I should go Trick or Treating tomorrow night.

I think it's just a matter of a few weeks and it will be time to quit setting up for the winter, will still go out to buy though. Plus a few months of working on adding merchandise to the shop won't hurt.

Large White / Blue Enamelware Colander
Vintage large white enamelware colandar with dark blue handles and trim. 12-5/8 inches diameter at top, approx 6 inches tall. Has some spots of missing enamel were foot meets the bowl and on the underside. Also one small spot inside. Nice addition to your vintage kitchenware collection.


White / Black Enamelware Colander
Vintage white enamelware colarder with black handles and trim. The colander is 10-1/2 inches in diameter and 4-1/2 inches high. just a few very small spots with missing enamel but basically all there. Nice addition to your vintage kitchenware collection.


Vintage White Enamelware Water Pitcher
Vintage enamelware water pitcher, white with dark blue trim. Pitcher is nine inches to top of the handle. Has spot on rim missing enamel and a few little spots on rim and handle, sort of normal due to years of use. Great addition to your vintage country kitchen.


White Enamelware Perculator Coffee Pot
Vintage white enamelware perculator coffee pot, has black handle and trim. Basket is intact. Inside is pretty clean. About 9 inches top top of glass dome. No chips, some scuffing on base from use. Great addition to your vintage kitchen.


Vintage White Enamelware Teapot
Vintage white enamelware teapot with black wooden handle and black trim. Has spot of missing enamel near bottom an also on end of spout, sort of normal due to years of usage. Some chipping of enamel inside the lid. Inside is clean. Great addition to your vintage country kitchen.


Vintage Graniteware Water Dipper
Vintage graniteware water dipper, handle is about 9 inches, bowl is 5 in. diameter at top and about 2-3/4 inches deep. Has assortted dings and dangs in the enamelware from usage. Nice addition to your country kitchen

A nice miniature souvenir pewter replica of Monticello. According to the card that was with it, the piece was made exclusively for The Thomas Jefferson Memorial Foundation by Bates & Klinke. It is 364;1 scale. The base is 3-3/4 x 3-3/8 inches. Has 'Monticello' below the front steps, has a trademark and Pewter, USA on side of base. Detail is great.

Souvenir Spoons, Vintage Spice Boxes, Collectibles

Got to the flea market Sunday morning about 5am, only a few dealers hanging around, I figured there would be an early bunch because weather forecast was good. Wandered around lots of empty tables then a little before 7am it started to get a little light and dealers started streaming in. Not much later the market was full. Got set up and had some action early then there was a dead spot for a while so wandered about again and bought some stuff, hey someones gotta keep the economy going. About 9:30 business picked up and I stayed until about 2pm. Took my time packing which always seems to be a good selling time.

Worked on some purchases Monday, did a post office run and then added some items to the shop. Figure I'll try to get a bunch of goodies into the shop this week, maybe we'll have a Christmas holiday rush this year and it will all sell, probably not. Added another bunch of vintage road maps to the shop plus other items. Ok, back to work now, got lottsa stuff to add.

Swan Open Salt Dips, Limoges, Lipstick Holder, Collectibles

Got most of the day at the market in on Friday, well until about 11 or so. Which is most of the day when you get there at about 5am. Problem at the moment is it stays dark to long in the morning, but will be changing the clocks soon and will help but it will also be colder and not keen on the markets in the cold, especially while taking blood thinners. Actually will start going into hibernation from the markets soon.

Was a sorta quiet day, bunch of dealers but light on the buyers which happens at this time, vacations over (lot of people vacation along the Jersey shore), people gotta get the kids to school etc. Did a little buying and think I bought right, not much but brought a small box full home.

They were calling for rain today (Saturday) so it cut down on the yard sales, then it didn't rain after all. Went out and found a few, not much to buy but something to do for a couple of hours. Then back to the computer and added some assorted stuff to the shop. Weather looks good for tomorrows market and truck is full so will be up early and out to peddle my wares.

Hey the weather changed, like springtime for a couple of days, sixty, seventies Tuesday, Wednesday and they say tomorrow high seventies. Yesterday headed to the storage unit, repacked the van for Friday which is supposed be like high 50's, great flea market weather. Sunday also looking good.
Today decided to put up the new storm door. Measured, drilled, screwed etc. And guess what it works. Normally I would wait for a freezing day to do it :-), guess I'm gettin' smarter in me old age.

Vintage Gillette Tech safety razor, gold plated head, black thick metal handle in the original box. Has trianglular bar slots, no date code.Paper hinge that held top is torn off, lid a little squashed but still nice. Razor doesn't look to have ever been used. Also includes sealed pack of 5 Gillette Blue Blades. Great addition to you collection.

Stratton Queen Convertible Compact, NIB
Vintage unused (new in box) Stratton compact is brushed gold-tone metal with an embossed rose and rosebud on the top. The bottom is signed Stratton measures approximately 3-1/4 inched in diameter. Still has the original paper instructions for adding powder. Made in England. Still in the original box, 'Queen Convertible Compact 385/76' on label. A wonderful addition to any compact collection.

Vintage half moon shaped Metalfield compact in unused condition. Has floral design on top. Powder puff is there. Approx. 4-1/8 inches across. Doesn't latch shut. Still would display nicely in your collection.


Enameled Vintage Cloisenne Deco Le Debut Hundut Compact
Vintage octagonally shaped Cloisenne Deco compact signed leDebut by Richard Hudnut still contains both of it's original puffs. The rouge has hardly been used at all and there is still some original powder. The mirror flips up from the top of the Art Deco style rouge top. The compact itself is in nice condition other than a small dent on the bottom. Has two little eyelets on the side, maybe for a chain. Marked Genuine Cloisenne on the edge and Le Debut Richard Hundut inside. Pat.75281.

Guess the weatherman was right it rained on and off all weekend, which made it cold and wet. So we didn't head to the market at all. But we did hit a garage sale Saturday out in the boondocks and did ok buying. Nothing real great but no chance of losing any money on the pile.
Spent the rest of the weekend taking photos, pounding the keyboard and getting goodies into the shop. Even got a small space (couple of square feet anyway) cleaned out near the living room door. That's an accomplishment. But will say that most of what's around is small stuff, just a lot of it. Hey I could buy pianos.
