Hi all,
Had a sort of complicated couple of weeks and wasn't able to update the blog. But I'm back and ready to rock 'n roll.
The Monday after my auction I had a double dose of chemo and it dropped me like a rock. White blood count fell through the floor. Got some shots, dragged myself to radiation the rest of the week and ended up in the hospital on Saturday, did about five days of the patient thing, hooked up to tubes and wires. Needless to say I didn't get anything done. Well, actually maybe I did, had time to think about ways to improve the shop, items to add, fine tuning for the search engines etc.

Anyway we're back on the road again and getting some goodies added to the shop etc.

Back on the street

Quick post.
Was in the hospital for about 5 days (they were short patients), upright and back on the road again. Vacations over now gotta get back to work adding stuff to the shop.

Ok one more day of treatments and I'm off for the weekend, except I have an auction on Saturday, so I guess I'm off on Sunday. Then another week of treatments. Luckily these haven't hit me like a few years ago did.

Hi all, well we're all back together in one piece (so far). Did a 11 hour stint at the hospital on Monday, double chemo treatment and then radiation. Today was a short chemo about 3 hours or so and radiation. Home by noon. Couple of more weeks of both, then just radiation everyday.

So now I have to get back to getting stuff done and load mo' goodies into the shop. Then people can purchase them and I can go find more.

Nothing done weekend

Hi, well I actually got nothing done over the weekend, Friday afternoon I ended up with a 103* fever and an infection from the biopsy I got on Wednesday. Went the the E.R and they admitted me, stayed there until Sunday mid-day. Not a very fun weekend. Tomorrow is the beginning of a 5 day chemo and radiation treatment, they say abot 10 hours in the hospital for tomorrow. Not sure how long the next few days will me.

Flow Blue Plates, Valet Razor, Gillette Razor added to Shop

Good day all, weather is nice, sun is out and eleven more little gosslings showed up in the creek behind the house today. So now there two goose families hanging out. Little ducklings should be showing up soon.

Spent most of Wednesday hanging around the hospital getting a CT needle biopsy on my lung. Only took about an hour but had to wait for the Dr. and then they made me stay three hours after it to check that all was good. Just to make me feel better the Dr. told me before the procedure that four things could happen, all could go good, he could hit a blood vessel and we could have bleeding, possible infection or he could go too deep and collapse my lung. Told him to forget the collapsed lung, been there done that. So anyway all worked out and he said he got something to test. Another step taken.

Got to add a few things to the accumulation of neat stuff in the shop. Also found some neat Victorian diecuts that I forgot I had, maybe get some of them listed tomorrow or over the weekend.

Vintage New Jersey Fish and Game Laws booklet from 1941. Contains 170+ pages, approx. 4 x 6" in size. Nice condition.

Six PRR Pennsylvania Railroad Glasses
Six PRR Pennsylvania Railroad glasses. Red and white pyroglazed decoration. Red 4902 PRR engine, white cars and building. PRR logo. Made by Libby Glass Co. Glasses are 4 1/2inches tall and 3 5/8 inches diameter across the top. Nice condition with no chips or cracks.


Flow Blue, Pastoral Plate, Sheep, England
A nice flow blue transferware plate with sheep on the hillside, castle on the hill. Marked Pastoral, 1790, England. Also has a 23 and an impressed 11 and mark I can't decipher. Plate is approx. 10-3/8 inches in diameter. Nice condition with no chips or cracks.

A nice flow blue transferware plate showing man on horse that is drinking from stream, with cottages and a bridge. The plate is marked Byron / Crown Clarence / Staffordshire / England. Approx. 10 inches in diameter. No chips or cracks, does have glaze crackling and some minor staining.

Vintage Valet Auto-Strop Razor, in metal case marked The Biddeford Journal. Includes the leather strop, has outer cardboard sleeve, inner box with strop missing flaps on one end. Case has some of the paper from inside the sleeve stuck to it. Razor is nice.


1918 Gillette Old Type Safety Razor
Gillette 'Old Type' safety razor. Serial No. E 981533 which dates it to 1918. Silver plated three piece razor, top guard has three studs, center one is threaded for handle. Hollow handle with ball end. Uses 3 hole blades, Many of these razors have small splits in the handle which is common in this type razor. Some wear from usage. Nice antique razor for your collection.


1940's Gillette Tech Razor Plastic Handle
A vintage Gillette Tech three piece safety razor with black plastic handle. Bottom of handle and top of blade holder marked Gillette. Nice average condition.

Printers Blocks, Shaving Brush, Collectible Stuff

Still plugging away here, hit a few yard sales on Saturday, not a lot of stuff but worthwhile. Nothing great but a few salabe items and a few things to toss in my next auction which should be interesting because I have five days straight of radiation and chemo right before it.

Ok it's officially spring, two geese and seven little gosslings showed up in the creek behind the house the other day. Also most of the female ducks have disappeared to their nests.

On the cancer front:
Saw the radiologist and he believes that the cancer is consentrated in one lymph node and hasn't spread anywhere. There is also a tiny spot in the right lung that he believes might be cancer (going for biopsy next week) if so he should be able to take care of it with radiation while doing the lymph node.
Not so good is it's 7 weeks of radiation every day and two weeks of chemo 5 days a week during the radiation.

Added some cookie cutters, postcards, vintage razors etc. to the shop.

Vintage pocket tin of BiSoDol mints. Pre-priced 29 cents. Tin is still full, contains 30 mint tablets for upset stomach relief. Still has original paperwork. It was made by Whitehall Laboratories, Inc., New York, N.Y. Probably 1960's era. Nice condition.

Compact with figures on lid (empty) is marked Evening in Paris, Bourjois; one is marked Coty with mirror inside (empty); one with lady on front has powder puff and some powder with mirror. Marked Tre-Jur, The Little One. About 2 inches in diameter. Face powder tin (empty) has Florian Face Powder on label. Sorry didn't get to clean them up. Priced accordingly.

Robins egg blue and white speckled enamelware pot lid, Will fit about a 7-1/2 inch outside diameter with a 7-1/8 inside diameter opening. Does have chips in the enamel but on the inside. Also one on the handle.

Early Gillette Standard safety razor, top blade holder has long threaded stud that attached to the lower part of razor. Single ring at top of handle. Has Nov. 15, 1904 Pat. date on handle and serial no. 904323 or 8 on the inner barrel which dates it to 1909. Took the old three hole razor blade (one included), but regular double edge blades also fit. Nice condition, some wear on top of blade holder. Great addition to your razor collection.

Has Nov. 15, 1904 Pat. date on handle and serial no. 705199 on the inner barrel which dates it to 1906. Most of the plating is worn off. Used the old three hole razor blade (one included), but regular double edge blades also fit.
