When I woke up this morning the snow was still out there, so I'm staying in here. Think I'll stay in until the spring if possible. No use in going out there and being cold when I can stay in here and be warm. Ah, the joys of being an online marketeer. But I guess after like 35 years of selling at the markets outside (in the cold) it's time to get a break. Even though it took medical reasons to get it.

Anyway have work to do, stuff to get done and still gotta come up with some New Years resolutions. guess I could start with clear up clutter around here and get more stuff listed in shop. Ok that's a start, oh and stay out of the hospital this year, that's a good one. How about fill up the money box, sounds good. Move out non-selling items and turn the $'s.

A few new additions to the cluttered shop. Think we're at about 6100+ items now. Gotta work on the 10,000 number.

Sterling Art Deco Demitasse Coffee Spoons + Straw Spoon
A pair of sterling silver Art Deco Demitasse / Coffee Spoons, I believe the hallmarks are for George Stockwell, Birmingham England 1920's. The beans are a little paler than the photo.The sterling straw spoon is marked MG Sterling Mexico, about 4 inches long. Has been polished since photo was taken. Nice condition.

Vintage Gillette Tech Razor in red, white and blue cardboard box (paper hinge is torn). Thick handle, nickel plated, pre 1951 no date code and triangular slots behind bar guard. Uses standard double edge blades. Nice pre-owned condition.

Vintage nickel plated Gillette Tech safety razor with thick handle. Made in Canada 1932. Parallel slots behind blade guard. Uses standard double edge blades. Very nice condition.

Vintage Gillette 'Old Type' safety razor, silver plated. Hollow ball end handle, originally used three hole blades, but regular double edge blades fit. comes with case in so-so condition. Razor is in nice pre-owned condition.

Got a few feet of snow yesterday and last night. About 3 foot drifts out front and on the patio. Jan said when the big dog ran out this morning he hit a 3' drift and stopped dead, got stuck. Little dogwas having no part of it.

Been sort of windy today so the drifts are moving around. Not my kind of weather so I decided not to go play in the snow.

Got a few things together and added to the shop.

Vintage Cigarette Case Basketweave Pattern
Vintage cigarette case with basketweave type pattern. Held regular non-filter cigarettes, Camel, Lucky Strike size. Only markings I see are Made in USA, Pat. Pend. has a little discoloration but might polish out. Approx. 3 x 3 inches.

Antique Pewter Box Serpents
Antique pewter or similar metal lidded box with raised serpent decoration. The hinged lidded box is approx. 6-7/8 x 3-1/4 x 2 inches in size. Looks like it had a silver plating at one time. No markings that I can find.

Segal One Piece Safety Razor - Case
Vintage gold plated Segal safety razor in original case. Has an unusual turn-to-open mechanism and uses specialty blade made by Segal. Marked 'Segal Made in USA' under bottom plate, with patent numbers. Was made by Segal Safety Razor Corp., 270 Broadway, New York, NY. Circa 1930's. Super nice condition.

Old Type Gillette Safety Razor in Case
Vintage Gillette 'Old Type' three piece safety razor in case. hollow ball end handle. originally took 3 hole blades, but takes standard double edge blades. dates from the 1920's. Razor has been cleaned and polished. Nice pre-owned condition.

Well we made it to Christmas 2010, now gotta work on Xmas 2011.

Did something completely different yesterday (Christmas Day), actually took a day off. Really, just answered a few emails in the morning. This is not easy for one who never takes a day off. Hung out on the couch, drank coffee, read the paper and a few magazines. Put on my robe because it was a little chilly and became a cat magnet. They sure like sleeping on a robe if your in it or not. Had a plate of manicotti (good Irish Christmas meal) for midday dinner, bowl of ice cream later. Some popcorn etc.

Snow is starting to accumulate out there, they're calling for a bunch of snow as the day goes on.

Guess I have to come up with some New Years resolutions this week, ones that I might actually keep. Hmmm?

Got some items together, took photos and added them to the shop. Got lots of stuff piled up to work on this week.

Didn't get a lot of shop stuff done today, but sorted out a pile of paper stuff and some postcards, spent some time clearing up around my desk headquarters and got a little more organized. Was one of those days no matter what I tried to do something gotin the way so decided to clear up some space. Sometimes ya just gotta do it. Next step is to go through the shop and delete a bunch of sold stuff. Think I might try to get a bit more organized for the new year. Also think I might have said that before though.

Okay, guess the rush wasn't over, shop was busy Saturday and Sunday. But a lot of it wasn't holiday shopping type stuff. Was 15* on the thermometer outside this morning here in sunny Lakewood, N.J. Some snow on the ground from yesterday. Sorta like chilly out there. Shot up to 33* later in the day.

Anyhow I stayed busy taking photos, writing descriptions, reading the paper, drinking coffee, adding stuff to the shop, had a bowl of ice cream and stuff like that. Sort of a normal day around here. Hey it ain't easy squeezing the work part in.

Vintage Kissproof Midget eyebrow pencil and lipstick tubes (empty). Eyebrow pencil is 2 inches long the lipstick is about 1-3/4 inches. The lipstick tube also has butterfly and flower designs on the back (pretty piece). Tubes are brass and I believe these are from the 1930's. Nice addition to your vanity related collection.

Well I think the online selling rush is slowing down a little due to USPS 2010 Holiday Shipping Cut Off Dates, If you want it delivered by December 25.

But of course that won't slow down my adding of merchandise to the shop as sales can be as good or better in January. Gift giving may be over but buying for oneself is not. Got Xmas money to spend, have a few bucks in the budget left over or maybe you need a pick me up for the dull dreay days of winter, especially those in the northern (cold) half of the country.

Still got lots of collectibles and other stuff in many categories to work on. Amazing this stuff multiplies in the dark corners of the house.

Added a bunch of vintage safety razors yesterday and today.

Gillette Three Piece Tech Razor, Nickel 1959
Vintage nickel plated Gillette three piece Tech razor. solid ball end handle. Gillette etched on top plate. Has E-1 date code, 1959. Uses standard double edge blades. Average used condition.

Gillette Adjustable Safety Razor 1964
Vintage Gillette adjustable safety razor with 1-9 blade adjustment dial. Has J-4 date code, 1964. Uses standard double edge blades. Average used condition

A very strange, sorta scary looking razor.

King Oscillating Razor in Case
A vintage King Oscillating Razor, 1930’s era. As you shaved the wheel rade against your face and it made the blade move back and forth. Cleaned it up a bit to make it more presentable. More gold color than the photo. Don't know if blades are available. Manufactured by King Razor Corporation, 342 Madison Ave, New York, NY. Patent No. 75147 15 May 1928 filed 28 Feb 1928. Paul H. Berger, New York, NY. Also No. 1654105 & 1678933. Great for that odd razor collection and a neat conversation piece.

Scheaffer One Piece Safety Razor
Vintage Scheaffer one piece safety razor, nickel plated in case. Has an unusual turn-to-open mechanism and uses specialty blade like the Segal. Marked 'Scheaffer Made in USA' under bottom plate, with patent numbers. Was made by Segal Safety Razor Corp., 270 Broadway, New York, NY. Circa 1930's. Nice condition.

Gem Single Edge Safety Razor in Box NOS
Gem single edge safety razor silver colored with ivory colored plastic handle. new in the box. Featherweight. Flip open top, marked Gem Razor inside. Has 'G' in circle on handle. Gem was made by American Safety Razor Corp., Brooklyn, NY. Great addition to your collection. Price includes USA shipping.

Gillette Old Type Safety Razor, Ser. No.M28770
Vintage 'Old Type' Gillette safety razor. Has serial number M28770 which dates it to 1921. Three piece razor, top guard has three studs, center one is threaded for handle. Originally used 3 hole blades, but regular double edge blades fit. Many of these razors have small splits in the handle which iscommon in this type razor. Average used condition, polished up.

Gillette Standard Old Type Safety Razor 1920's
Standard Old Type Gillette safety razor, three piece design with long center stud and two smaller studs to hold the original 3 hole style blade. But the regular double edge blades fit. No serial numbers after 1921. Average used condition, polished up.

Gillette Safety Razor Black Handle, Silver Tip 1969
Vintage Gillette safety razor with black handle and TTO silver tip. Date code is O-1, 1969. Uses regular double edge blades. Average used condition.

Have come to the conclusion that I might have to much stuff stashed around here. also that it might take just short of forever to list it all in the shops etc. But then again it will keep be busy for another 50 years or so. Which means I'll be about 115 years old.

Sorta had a couldn't get started day here Sunday, was rainy and gloomy. But did accomplish a few things as the day went on. Got a couple more boxes sorted and Jan put them in the van (my mini storage space) at the moment. Freed up another few square feet of floor space. It's amazing what one can accumulate in this business.

Jan and Danny took a run to the pizza place and returned with a bucket of manicotti, sorta like a high point of the day. Should get me two meals. Good stuff it is.

Added a few pen & ink, watercolor framed sketches to my Eclectic Collectibles shop.

And added some mo' goodies to the Country Joe's Collectible Stuff shop.

Gillette Old Type Razor Clone
An early Gillette Old Type clone or knock off, similar but no markings and not quite exact. Three piece, long center stud. Uses regular double edge blades. Nice pre owned condition.

Gem Junior, The Parade Safety Razor
Vintage Gem Junior 'The Parade' single edge safety razor in box. Gold plated. Marked Gem junior on back of head. Paper hinge on box is no longer. Doesn't look to be used or if so very little. Razor has tarnish from sitting but I don't like cleaning these as the plating is very thin.

Vintage Renwal Dollhouse Furniture, Glassware, Collectibles

Little better today 20* when I awoke, of course that's not exactly nice out. So we hung out in the house, worked on some more Renwal and other dollhouse furniture, a few vintage razors etc. Sorted a condensed a few boxes of stuff, now have a little more floor showing.

Worked on framing up a bunch of pen & ink and watercolor drawings that were in a box, project I was susposed to do a year ago but you know how it is. hope to list them in one of the shops tomorrow, probably the Eclectic Collectibles shop.

Dug out some items that were sold today another pile is building for the post office. Should slow down a little as it getting close to "who knows when the USPS will get it delivered" time.

Vintage 1941 Gillette Ranger Tech safety razor.The center bar is unnotched, and the 1941 was made with no end caps. TTO (Twist To Open) type, band above the TTO knob has: Pat. Nos. On Package. Uses standard double edge blades. Very nice pre owned condition.

Star Double Edge Safety Razor, Black Plastic Handle
Vintage Star double edge safety razor. nickel plated head with black plastic handle. Lower plate has keyhole cutouts and top plate has key shaped studs. Uses regular double edge blades. Nice pre owned condition.

Small group of 21 vintage buttons, four matching are MOP, three others are also MOP, three glass flower like buttons are missing some rhinestones. round white is porcelain, larger button with blue rhinestone is 1-3/4 in. diameter.

Wintery like out there, not good. Think I'm gonna stay in here and pound on the keyboard here in my little corner.

Dug in another box and found a few goodies to add to the shop, plus added some nice vintage razors I had on the side and forgot about. Shop has been fairly busy the last few days, no major orders but lots of $20 - $25 type orders.

New group started on I Antique Online Barber Shop Collectibles. Also I never added a link to the Antique and Vintage Advertising Collectibles group.

Antique Brass Brides Basket
I guess this could be called a brides basket with a floral design. Seems to be made of brass with a antique toning. Approx. 7-1/4 inches in diameter and 5-1/4 inches to top of swing handle. Can't find any markings.

Very nice pair of crystal candle sticks, approx. 8-1/4 inches tall. They are six sided, base is 3-1/2 inches flat to flat side. No markings. Nice condition, no problems.

Vintage 'Old Type' Gillette safety razor with the original type handle, silver plated. Serial No. E634370, which dates it to 1918. Three piece razor, top guard has three studs, long center one is threaded for handle. Used 3 hole blades, but standard double edge blades fit. Has some scratch damage to the handle and one end tooth has a slight bend. Doesn't affect usage.

1920s Milady Decolletee, Old Type Short Handle Ladies Razor
Milady Decolletee or Decollete, (have seen it both ways) double edged safety razor. Old style razor except shorter handle for the ladies. Has gold-plated ball end on silver handle. Manufactured in the U.S.A. by Gillette 1920's to mid 1930s. Originally used the three hole blades but regular double edge blades work. has the usual split on the handle.

Vintage 1919 Gillette Milady Decollete gold plated lady's safety razor, has serial number K504943 dates it to 1919. Gold plated handle, tapered at the top. nice used condition.

Gillette WWI Khaki Set Military Razor Set 1918
Vintage World War I Gillette Khaki set, old type razor with hollow ball end handle Serial No. J6455 dates it to 1918. Also has 'Property U.S. Army' on underneath of lower plate. Set contains razor, blade box and metal mirror. Razor is in average condition, does have the usual handle split, blade box could use more polishing, mirror has spots that are probably permanent, case in average condition. .

Vintage 1958 Gillette TV Super Speed safety razor in the original styrenne case. Date coded D-1. TTO. This model was made one year only. Notice the handle doesn't have the squares in the design. Very nice used condition. Gillette advertised this razor during its sponsorship of the Cavalcade of Sports TV program in 1958 . Uses regular double edge blades. Has original blade dispenser with couple of blades.

A bit chillery around here Saturday morning like 30, today 28 not good. But now not being able to get to the markets isn't such a bad idea.

Dug through and sorted some more boxes of goodies have been hanging around here. Ran into a pile of Barbie dolls that I gotta go through, looks like there may be some older, better ones in there. Also a bunch of framed pictures I'll look into.

Took some more photos of stuff that is going into my former New Years Day auction that Jersey Shore Auctions is holding.

Earl Steffa Moran (December 8, 1893 – January 17, 1984), born in Belle Plaine, Iowa, was a 20th Century pin-up and glamour artist[1]. Moran's first instruction in art came under the direction of John Stich, an elderly German artist who also taught the great illustrator W.H.D. Koerner. Moran also studied with Walter Biggs at the Chicago Art Institute.

Moran later studied at the famed Art Students League in Manhattan, where he took instruction from the muralists Vincent Drumond, Robert Henri, Thomas Fogarty (Norman Rockwell's teacher), and the legendary anatomist George Bridgman. After moving back to Chicago in 1931 and opening a small studio where he specialized in photography and illustration, he sent some paintings of bikini-clad girls to two calendar companies; when both Brown and Bigelow and Thomas D. Murphy Company bought the work, his career was officially launched.

Moran signed an exclusive contract with Brown and Bigelow in 1932 and by 1937, his pinups had sold millions of calendars for the company. In 1940, Life ran a feature article entitled "Speaking of Pictures" which mostly focused on Moran's work and made him a national celebrity. In 1941, Moran helped the magazine publisher, Robert Harrison, to launch a new men's magazine called Beauty Parade, and he later contributed pin-ups to other Harrison magazines such as Flirt, Wink and Giggles.

In 1946, Moran moved to Hollywood though he had already painted many movie stars including Betty Grable, for publicity posters. Soon after his arrival, he interviewed a young starlet named Norma Jean Dougherty who wanted to model for him. For the next four years, Marilyn Monroe posed for Moran and the two became friends. She always credited him with making her legs look better than they were as she felt they were too thin.

Moran lived in the San Fernando Valley from 1951 to 1955, hosting fabulous parties, directing and starring in short television films, painting portraits of Earl Carroll's Vanities Girls, and maintaining his position as a star of the pin-up world.

After a move to Las Vegas (circa 1955) and several years of living in the fast lane, Moran decided to devote his time to painting fine-art subjects, with nudes as his favorite theme. Signing with Aaron Brothers Galleries, he painted for collectors until 1982, when his eyesight failed. An interesting note, some of his earlier works for Harrison were signed "Steffa" or "Black Smith"

Moran died in Santa Monica, CA on January 17, 1984

Vintage Gillette Milord safety razor 1948 -1950 no date code, but has notched center bar. Gold plated, some wear on door edges but has much of the original lacquer coating. Nice pre-owned condition.

Went up to the storage unit on today with Danny and took some photos of stuff that is going into my former New Years Day auction that Jersey Shore Auctions is holding.

Dug through and sorted some boxes of stuff that are hanging around here, found a few items to add to the shop and some that are going to hang out in the van until I figure what to do with them, mostly flea market type stuff.

Cleaned up a small pile of vintage razors that hopefully will get pictured up and in the shop over the weekend.

The oxygen machine people brought me a newer machine yesterday. The other one kept beeping, but was working. As long as oxygen is coming out I'm good to go.

Raining out there at this time, it's 59* better than that 22* the other morning.

Just a normal day here yesterday, wok, work and work. Shoulda been born rich. Got a few things listed and got a few things cleaned up and ready to go in the today.

Oil Can Banks:
Oil cans banks make a nice collection and are cleaner than collecting oil cans themselves. over a period of time most major oil companies and many smaller one produced banks that were one quart size. Some also made smaller ones that represented additives etc. Makes a nice colorful advertising collection. of course from there you will want a few signs, maybe some road maps etc. and pretty soon your on your way to a major collection, hey stuff happens.

A bit chilly yesterday morning thermo said 22* that's TWENTY TWO!!!! Mostly spent the working hours of the day sorting so Christmas stuff to put on ebay, worked some paper, postcards and photographs I found in a box and cleaned up some razors to add later today. Also found more stuff I don't know why I had. a lot of that going on around here.

Just a standard, normal day around here on Sunday. Van had a dead battery, Jan and Danny took his car to the storage unit and brought back a bunch of boxes o' stuff to dig through. Took pictures, added a few things to the shop. Read part of the N.Y. Times with a bowl of Turkey Hill Coffee ice cream. Can of Chef Boyardee Spaghetti & meatballs for dinner (easy cook, easy to swallow) and some more ice cream. That kind of day.

1958 Gillette TV Super Speed Safety Razor
A small vintage pendant or charm, looks gold plated with 'SJP' enameled white letters on blue backround. Possibly St. John’s Prep. Can't quite make out the name on back but it was made in Boston. About 3/4 inch long.

Busy taking pictures and adding some of that collection of vintage Renwal dollhouse furniture to the shop more coming. Also a few vintage safety razors.

Might get Danny to take me up to the storage unit tomorrow before the weather turns cold (doctor won't let me drive)and put a new load of boxes in the truck and then I'll have more stuff to sort and list. Can park the truck in my parking space at the end of the building and have a like a mini storage unit to work from.

Finished up my turkey dinner from Thanksgiving last night.

1958 Gillette TV Super Speed Safety Razor
Vintage 1958 Gillette TV Super Speed safety razor. This one is date coded 'D-2'. TTO. This model was made one year only. Notice the handle doesn't have the squares in the design. Gillette advertised this razor during its sponsorship of the Cavalcade of SportsTV program in the late 50's. Uses regular double edge blades.

Sort of an uneventful day, worked on the computer, no Holidays around here. Need a better union around here.

Jan and Danny went to the diner to eat and brought me back turkey, sweet potatoes, turnips and gravy. enough for two meals. So I split it up and stuffed myself. Took a nap a while later and went back to pounding on the keyboard with my one finger speed typing.

A few vintage nice razors added to the shop and some New Jersey postcards.

Gillette Old Type Safety Razor
Vintage 'Old Type' Gillette safety razor. Three piece razor, top guard has three studs, center one is threaded for handle. Used 3 hole blades, but standard double edge fit. Small stress cracks on handle which is common in this type razor. Comes with one '3 - hole blade. Used condition, but polished up nicely.

Gillette 'NEW' Safety Razor, Slim Chrome Handle, Case
Vintage Gillette 'NEW' safety razor chrome plated with short comb with 'slim' bar handle, gold plated. Top piece has the bar that fits in blade slot of lower plate. 1930's. Comes with red / black case and two Gillette blue blades in wrappers. Uses standard double edge blades. Nice pre owned condition.

Gillette Windsor Set Gillette 'NEW' Razor
Vintage Gillette 1930's Windsor Set, contains a gold plated Gillette 'NEW' safety razor and gold plated razor box. Looks like someone put a sticker on the top of the case 'Hole in One', maybe it was given as a golf prize. Pat. Jan. 13, 1920 USA / Other Patents Pending. Small stress crack on handle which is common in this type razor.Nice little used condition.

Been keeping busy loading the shop up with merchandise, looking back at last year, Thanksgiving weekend was pretty busy and it continued on up until about a week before Christmas, slowed a bit due to buyers were worried about shipping. Post office doesn't guarantee anything around that time.

Cleaned up part of a collection on vintage razors, wrote descriptions, take photos today. Scanned some New Jersey postcards and vintage gas station road maps that will also go on later today I hope.

Took some more photos and sent a few items to our ebay auctions.

Gillette Old Type Razor Bulldog Handle,
Vintage Standard Old Type Gillette safety razor with spiral design 'Bulldog' handle, single ring. Razor is silver plated. Three piece design with long center stud and two smaller studs to hold the 3 hole style blade (will also take the standard double edge blade). These razors were serial numbered. This one has serial number N27606?, can't quite make out last digit which dates it to 1920. Nice collectible fact about these serial numbered razors is it is the only one. Nice average condition, has two very slightly bent end teeth on one side. Which isn't bad for being 90 years old.

Gillette Aristocrat Safety Razor 1946-1947 / Case
Vintage Gillette Aristocrat safety razor, 1946-1947 era This variety of the Aristocrat has no notch for blade on the center bar and does have end caps. TTO. Uses regular double edge blades. Comes with brown case, gold trim. Inside the lid the fabric is torn. And a blade dispenser (looks like a few blades). Nice pre owner condition, no plating loss, light surface scratches

Schick Injector Razor Butterscotch Bakelite Handle
Vintage Schick Injector safety razor, butterscotch bakelite handle. E3 type parallel grooving on bar guard. Uses standard injector blades. Early 1940's era. Average used condition, has some scratches.

Decided it was time to clear up around my desk / office in the corner of the living room, sorta got buried in stuff. Sorted and condensed items for the shop, ebay etc. Threw out stuff that I don't know why it was here. Packed a banana box with stuff to put in an auction somewhere, sometime in the future. Will send that to my storage unit. Actually made some progress and now have a bit more floor showing.

A neat little Trac II razor handle, travel size in case. Gold colored about 2-1/2 inches long. Outside of case is black with blue velvet inside.Case is 2-1/2 x 2-3/4 inches. No makers mark. Few small scratches on case. looks to be unused.

Sort of a dull day around here, Hospice nurse was here. hearts pumping, have blood pressure, lungs breathing etc. Almost ready to rock n roll but not quite. Took photos, wrote descriptions and added stuff to the websites. Guess I gotta hit that next box of stuff later today.

High point of the day was that Jan and Danny went to the pizza place while they were out at the post office, bank etc. and brought me home an order of Manicotti, enough for at least two dinners. Easy to swallow and fills the belly.

Vintage Gem Clogpruf Micromatic safety razor in original brown covered case. Razor is brass colored, a little stiff opening but has been sitting for years. Nice used condition.

Also added a bunch of vintage noisemakers to the shop.
Various American companies created tin noisemakers, such as T.Cohn, Chein, and Bugle Toy. One of the most recognizable manufacturer’s is Kirchhof, a company that created toys in Newark, New Jersey. Kirchhof manufactured tin noisemakers in the early part of the 1900's. These early noisemakers were made from tin and came complete with handles made from sculpted wood.The Made in Japan noisemakers from the 1950's had plastic handles,as did later versions of these noise makers.
Don't know why but I've always had a thing for the early ones. Back when lots of neat stuff showed up around the flea markets I had a pretty big collection of them, but that was years ago, which has since been dispersed. But still pick them up when I see them.

Well one of those nightmare boxes from the van was full of bunch of assorted Christmas decorations, ornaments etc., a Karate Rescue Radio, Uniden, 40 Channel CB; Wilton Cast Iron Low Muffin Pan; Regent Sherwood / Stainless 5 Piece Knife Set; 4 Kitchen Knives Pierre Santini,Stainless Steel; Assorted Dolls, Barbies Etc. All which are now on our Ebay auctions. Also a load of small fast food Happy Meal type toys which will go there tonight. Haven't gotten to the next box yet.

Worked on getting a bunch of vintage tin litho noisemakers ready to add to the shop today and tomorrow.

I believe this is a old yachting pin or yacht club lapel pin. Has ships wheel with blue enameled pennant and 90 in circle. Not in the best of condition but still nice collectible.

Spalding Bros. Baseball Charm 1927
It is a baseball with 'Y Champions 1927'. has on the bottom 'A G Spalding Bros. / Spalding / Made in USA. Has a clip to hang from a buttonhole. Looks gold plated, has scratches where someone tested it for gold, actually could be low karat. About 5/8 inch in diameter.

1935 Schick Injector Safety Razor
Schick Injector safety razor with bakelite handle. Type E2, round spring with flaps, Spring clip under guard turns to the left for cleaning. 1935 has flat spring with upward pointing tabs. Back of head is textured. Bar Guard with irregular striations. Schick Injector on spring washer. Nice pre owned condition.

Daintee Lady's Traveling Safety Razor
Daintee lady's traveling razor was made by the Nelpin Manufacturing Company of Long Island City, NY. 1950s era. Back of case looks like a car tail light reflector, why we wonder. By pressing a button on the side of the razor, the top plate of the blade holder is released. Uses standard double edge blades. Case is a darker color than photo, body ofr razor is chrome. Something different but nice addition to your razor collection. Nice pre owned condition.

Opened up a couple of nightmare boxes that were in the van, brought them in the house and now have to deal with them. Mostly stuff from the last time I was at the flea market, beginning of August ???? Don't even remember. first box looks like a lot of ebay type stuff, house items, Barbie dolls, fast food toys like McDonald's etc. Basically 'stuff' but maybe they will buy it. Dollar here, dollar there I could be a millionaire in a few hundred years. Gotta start unloading the clutter. Will peek in the next box tomorrow.

Next time around I gotta have a better plan.

Tomorrow gotta work on vintage razors, more road maps, small collectible stuff and some of what's in those boxes.

Vintage 1958 Gillette TV Super Speed safety razor in the original styrenne case. Date coded 'D-1. TTO. This model was made one year only. Notice the handle doesn't have the squares in the design. Gillette advertised this razor during its sponsorship of the Cavalcade of Sports TV program in 1958 . Uses regular double edge blades.

Have been adding some small auction items to my CJoesAuction site and a few things also to our Eclectic Collectibles Shop. Also a few items to our Ebay auctions. Got lots o' stuff to keep moving.

Decided to dig through a cabinet while looking for something we sold and found a bunch of odds and ends to add to

Just to keep things flowing around here I have been adding some small auction items to my CJoesAuction site and a few things also to our Eclectic Collectibles Shop

Will be listing some merch on our Ebay auctions only because it still is the place with the most lookers and possible buyers. Nothing like it use to be but there still is some action. Especially for stuff you don't really have a price for.

The long term plan to have three online shops going. But trying to keep them separate with different items. Will take moving around some items but it should work out in the end, the plan sounds good in my head anyway.

Okay back on the street again after a few more vacation days in the hospital. getting tired of these vacations. Seems that this time it was the lung cancer making problems. Word is it will probably happen again. Spent part of yesterday retuning in and meeting with the hospice people for sort of a backup just in case. Fact is the cancer is not going to get any better and it doesn't come with instructions.
Enough of that for now, gotta get working on the shop, moving forward, paying the bills etc.

1948 Gillette Aristocrat Safety Razor, Notched Bar
Vintage 1948, Gillette Aristocrat safety razor this is the "third" closed-comb Aristocrat model, which features a notched center bar to make replacing the razor blade faster and safer. Has end caps, TTO. Uses regular double edge blades. Razor is in very nice condition, minor plating wear.

Got another little bunch of sterling jewelry together, also dug out a neat pair of vintage eyeglasses. Bit chillery out there Saturday morning 33* not spring anymore. Worked it's way up to the high 50's as the day progressed.
Not a lot going on last couple of days, got some Christmas related stuff together to put on ebay tomorrow night. Don't want to see this stuff after Christmas also put some assorted Barbie dolls on that (I also don't want to see again.

Think I'll work on adding some more vintage razors and keep digging in my box of coins to add.

Sorta springy out there yesterday hung around the 70's, nice kind of weather.

Visiting nurse was here, I have a heartbeat, pulse, blood pressure and other good stuff. Took a bunch of red stuff for blood work, so we know the veins aren't clogged. These are all good signs. We is rebuilding.

Cloudy, damp and rainy today, but still springlike.

Added some Renwal dollhouse furniture, more to come. Some vintage 1950's tin noisemakers and mo' collectible stuff.

Vintage Hunt Scene Compact by Tussy
Vintage Tussy silver tone compact, marked Tussy inside. The compact has an old hunting scene on both sides. The hunters are on horses and have bow and arrows. It is 3 1/4 inches in diameter. Has push button to open and it works well. There is a mirror on one side and the other side opens to an empty powder compartmenrt. Probably 1940's - 50's era. Nice condition.

Same as the regular old type but had 'USE IVORY SOAP' under the bottom plate. Uses regular double edge blades. Has hollow ball end handle with small split whis is common with this handle. Nice used condition.

Wandered down to where the van is parked (at the end of our quad) and nosed around a bit to see what I could pull out to add to the shop. Got a few things but the four or five plastic tubs that I dug through was mostly flea market type stuff. Not doing the markets and not having the auction anymore doesn't help.

Plus I figure by the time I get through my storge unit probably by the spring there will probably be a mini van full of market type stuff. Either have to find an auction that wants a bunch of tray and box lot stuff or someone who needs a load of market stuff. Guess I'll worry about that then.

Had one of my healthy meals for dinner last night, yams, carrots and beets with turkey gravy and applesauce. All good stuff for ya.
Was sorta cool and blowery out there this morning, lots of leaves scooting up the street. Yeah I know 'blowery' isn't a word but I like it.

Was dealing with a bit of low blood pressure the last two weeks but seems drinking about 16 more ounces of liquid a day picked it up a bit.

Going to try to qadd some vintage Renwal dollhouse furniture tomorrow. Problem with this working at part power is I get a bunch of ideas in my head atnight to do the next day, lucky if I get a few of them done. Take a bunch of energy to get anything accomplished, but we just keep pushing.

Starting to look a bit fallish out there, leaves changing colors, a few trees thinning out. Squirrels running around in circles gather acorns, don't think I have ever yet seen a squirrel with a plan. Zippy II the chipmunk from across the street has been pretty busy also. Lots happenng outside the living room window.

Went out for a walk yesterday, made it to the end of the street and back, one short rest stop of about a minute or two. Almost ready for the marathon. Sent Jan and Danny to the Italian restaurant for some takeout Sunday afternoon, got another two day supply of Manicotti. Stuffed myself, saved half for tonight.

Dug out a bunch of sterling silver jewelry, plus a piece of gold and some assorted U.S. coins. Biggest problem with the coins is getting good photos.

A sterling silver bar pin in a twist design. Approx. 2-7/8 inches long. Marked ND 925.

A sterling silver ring with marcasite and a pearl. I think it is about size 5-1/4, inside diameter is 5/8 in. Marked 925.

Realized the other day after the last post that this has been the worst year for finding vintage Christmas collectibles, ornaments, lights etc. Other than a small collection of Santa Clauses that I sorta slid into my own collection. :-)
Normally I would find stuff at yard sales or auctions but this year nada. Actually the same went for vintage Halloween stuff.

Don't get me wrong I bought a lot of merchandise this year, but not a lot of neat stuff. Just sort of run of the mill items.

Oh well there are a few recent shop additions.

Hard to believe that they got all those miners out without a hitch. I wonder how many of them will go back into the mines again? Don't think I would, you?

Plodding along sorting some merch for the shop etc. trying to get as much listed for the holiday season and to help hold over the winter. Not having my live auction anymore and quitting the markets means I gotta push a lot more stuff to keep the $$$ coming in. Hope to get to some more jewelry, medal, pins and coins over the next week but keep getting sidetracked.

Worked on a bunch of vintage Christmas tree ornaments and added them to the shop. Also cleaned up a few vintage razors and other items.

Was a bit drizzly out there today so didn't sit on the patio, but did some walking around the house, starting to get around more and not getting out of breath. Legs feeling stronger too.

A very nice 1956 Gillette Super Speed safety razor with B-2 date code. Uses regular double edge blades.

A dozen vintage glass Christmas tree ornaments. All are round and approx. 2 inches in diameter. Caps and box are marked Poland. Orginal price on box from Two Guys was 79¢. All in nice used condition, slight fading etc.

Four silver rings, actually two are marked, the other two aren't but I believe they may be silver also. The larger sterling ring one is missing one marcasite, others are ok. All are around size 7.
