Halloween stuff and new collectors forum

Happy Spooky Day to all.
Well today is Halloween, and where did this month go. Clocks reset here in N.J. Saturday night guess I gained an hours sleep last night, or did I lose one?
Always liked Halloween, actually had a collectibles shop that converted into a Halloween shop for a bunch of years. My partner was a Halloween costume creator, worked from vintage clothes etc. and we had a large stock of masks and neat accessories. But that was then and this is now, but I miss the place at this time of the year. A few photos of the old Halloween shop.

Opened the new home of Eclectic-Collectibles.Net today, a forum for antique and collectible shopowners etc. General public also invited. Forum is located at Eclectic-Collectibles. Hope to get it advertised and rolling this week.

Bat Dog and Items added to Country Joes

Rained pretty hard here yesterday morn, creek was moving fast and had lots of duck traffic. About a dozen ducks crusing up and down all morning. Weather changed today, no rain and sorta nice out. But I guess the winter is slowly arriving. Not sure how I'm going to like the cold weather with the blood thinners I'm taking.

TJ the dog, gave his Bat Dog Halloween costume a trial run.


Also had our normal diners stop by for breakfast and lunch,ducks,geese,squirrelsand the chipmunk.

Sunday Night

Hi all,
Was sorta nice out today here in N.J. but the weather is getting cooler. We're still plugging away at getting goodies listed in the shops and turning some cash on ebay.

Had a goose and duck invasion in the back yard yesterday. Oh, and there was a squirrel mixed in there too. Think he might be the ringleader protesting for more peanuts in his daily allowance.


But we are protected by our front line defenses,

Well it was an interesting week,I was searching Google to check the rankings on a
few of my items and came upon a listing that looked familiar, clicked the link and came upon a shop that had copied over 300 of my photos and descriptions and listed them for a few dollars more. What they figured they would do is get orders and then order from me. Hoping I still had the merch. Great way to lower your overhead, no investment in stock. but they neglected to check with me about my photos and descriptions, sure I do all the work. On top of that they were on a big online mall and Google ranked them higher than me so people saw there link (for my items) first, went there if they didn't want the item they were now in this other shop in an online mall. if the left this shop and searched in the mall there isn't anyway
these customers would get to my shop. So I contacted them and told them to quit this game and pull my stuff, they did but said they were helping me sell my stuff. Ah, they were the "The Sales Fairy" second cousin to the Tooth Fairy. So now my stuff is off their shop, but alas the search engine links still go to their shop. Contacted the online mall the shop is on and hopefully they remedy this link situation. We'll
see. Other than that the rain finally stopped and we hit some yards sales on Saturday, got some stuff, nothing great but salable. I was getting down to about 90% of a zillion items, so I needed stock.

Good evening,

Well we had an auction Saturday night, about 600 lots. Had early GI Joe's, 1960's Stony and James Bond 007 action figures in original boxes, $100 - $175.00 range; 2 lots of early Dare Devil comics #1 thru #20 missing a couple of issues; #1 Capt. America and several other lots, totaled $500+. 2 Singer Featherweight Sewing Machines $150 + $175.00. Some Lionel Trains, lots of early Christmas decorations and some early Halloween diecut decorations. Glassware, china, jewelry, toys, paper, baseball collectibles furniture and other goodies. Long day started setting up 7am, preview at 3pm auction started 5:30pm and we got out of there about midnight. Still tired.

Hi all,
Well it's the middle of the night here in New Jersey, nice and cool, easy to sit and work on the puter. So I figured I'd add to the blog.

How to attract cats, take two paper bags, krinkle them and put on floor. Within minutes bags are full of cats and a line forms awaiting their turn.





Got a nice little load of goodies on Tuesday, some pottery and china that I added. Also some brass and copper items, which I'm going to list later today. Also going to work on some postcards for the Paper and Postcards shop.

Had a pretty full backyard this morning, 2 ducks, 3 squirrels a few birds and a chipmunk. To spread out to get them all together.





I'm just about ready for the auction on Saturday other than loading the van. Will probably load it Friday morning.

Super weather here in N.J. Great for yard saling which is what we did Saturday. Found some neat stuff for the
