Hi,
Went up to the storage unit this morning and dug through some more boxes, sorted some stuff for the next auction and sorta straightened things out. Pretty soon I should be able to move over to a smaller unit.

Did you know that Lenox is closing it's N.J. factories? 100+ years in Trenton and puff they're off to China or somewhere. Soon we won't be making anything here.



Seems that my keyboard has sorta disappeared under a pile of clutter on my desk. Guess it's time for my quarterly desk clean up. All that little stuff that didn't get listed in the shops. Should take a couple of days of scanning, picture taking and listing. Then I can start digging in another box from the Zillion Item Hoard.

Still nice weather in the N.J. area. Went out and hit a few garage sales Saturday morning, got some stuff for the house and a few resalable items, Penn fishing reel, a few pieces of china and glass. Not much, but we only did about half a dozen sales. Don't really need to buy more, but there could be a treasure lurking out there. Plus you can always find a few household items and decorations.

Oh yeah a few photos of the new cats, Patch and Alice. Patch is our Halloween cat. One of these I'll get a picture of Rowdy, he's sorta camera shy. He looks just like Alice without the spot next to his nose.

Pewter flask, Enamelware, Thimbles and more

Good evening all,
Great weather here in New Jersey. Sorta makes ya lazy. While I was digging through a box of paper I bought a few years ago I found this neat letter, also found some paper stuff for our ebay auctions . And stuff to add into the shops tomorrow. Probably hit a few local yard sales in the morning, ya never know what could surface. Then work on some silverplate flatware and sterling for the shop. Never a dull moment around here. Jan says I'm starting to fill the place up again, glad I have another auction coming up in a couple of weeks.

Pewt-006 Pewter Hip Flask
Antique pewter hip flask with hammered design. Marked E&JB on the neck (E&J Bass, New York, early 1900's). 5-3/4" long, about 4" wide. Has been in a few pockets and probably carried it's share of spirits. Average condition, assorted dings and dangs aquired over the last 75 years or so.

Victorian Gold Filled Adjustable Mesh Bracelet
Victorian gold filled mesh adjustable bracelet with tassles, great bracelet with very little minor wear, the gold filled slider has a diamond shaped center piece with 4 ruby stones and 3 faux pearls. Nice design on center piece and the clip that holds the tassles. Bracelet is 1/2" wide, opens to about 8". Condition is nice, no problems. Great piece of collectible jewelry.

Found out we are the owners of a "clowder" and learned a new word. Clowder - (n) a group or collection of cats.
Hit some yard sales on Saturday, not much out there, but picked up a few pieces for the shops and also for our next auction.

Sterling silver, Paper stuff and new cat

Well the third of our new cats arrived today, her name is "Patch", she is in hiding at the moment. Rowdy one of the other new ones is getting a bit more friendly and Alice is now part of the crew. Will get a few photos of Rowdy and Patch soon.
Spent the morning at the storage unit loading up for the auction tommorrow (Saturday). Van is pretty full and can now see the floor in the storage unit. Long day tomorrow, get up 5:30, get to the auction building about 7am, setup and accept consignments until 3pm. Preview 3 pm, auction starts 5:30, probably will go til 11 or so, clear out the place and head home. Sounds like a 18 hour day.

Finally got some nice steady weather this week.
Got the PET scan last week, when I go to see my Dr. I guess I'll know what turned up or disappeared. Feeling great since they stopped the chemo treatments.

Been digging through a load of sterling, coin silver and silverplate flatware, holloware etc. that I picked up last week. Also have a load of jewelry and a thimble collection to work on.
