Well we sorta got rained out on the weekend, but got a market in Friday between showers. Never got completly setup so it was a so-so day. Picked up a few neat items, but no show stoppers. Now have to start getting together for my auction on September 9th. Still have a week or so to figure it out.

DS-034 Lydia E. Pinkham's BottleAn old Lydia E. Pinkham's vegetable Compound bottle. Approx. 8-1/2" tall. Average condition, no chips or cracks.


Kit-045 Wood Handled Food Chopper
An early wood handled food chopper, circa 1900. Measures 8" wide x 5½" high. No nicks or cracks. Nice piece of early American kitchenware, great addition to your antique kitchenware collection. - hard to find in this nice condition.

Vintage cast iron trivet with a man at the top and a pair of cherubs. Black with red, green and gold coloring. Marked J.Z.H. 1955 on back. 8-1/4" long. Price includes USA shipping.


Kpott-035 Cow Creamer
Neat little cow creamer for your kitchen shelf. White with black spots, approx. 6-1/2" long. Great condition. Unmarked. Price includes USA shipping.


Kit-075 Fries Antique Buscuit Cutters
Two antique buscuit cutters, heavy tin, one spade shaped, the other a ruffled cirular shape. Marked Fries on the handles. Need some cleaning up. Nice addition to your vintage kitchenware collection. Price includes USA shipping.

An old tin kitchen grater, about 9-1/2" long. It does have a split in it from years of use. Pat'd Jun 11, 78.

Gillette travel razor in red leather zippered case, includes some blades. The little strap that holds the razor top is ripped. Price includes USA shipping.


TT-003 White Rose Tea Balls Tin
A neat old tin "White Rose Tea Balls", contained 300 Orange Pekoe Tea Balls. 10-1/4" tall, has some scratches. Nice addition to your vintage advertising or kitchen collection.


Char-007 Big Boy Bank
A Big Boy bank, hard rubber with slot in back of head. Marked A Product of Big Boy Restaurants of America. Marriott 1973. About 9-1/2" tall, great condition.


Char-009 McDonald's Hamburglar Doll
Vintage cloth Hamburglar doll from McDonald's. About 16" tall, has McDonalds Hamburglar on his back under his cape. 1970's.


Char-012 Yogi Bear Cloth Doll
Yogi Bear show, cloth doll from 1973. Approx. 7-1/2" tall. Printed face with felt trim pieces. Knickerbocker

Collecting Vintage Advertising Tins

Advertising tins have been around for hundreds of years. Made to hold items like coffee, candy, tobacco and many other items. They also come in many sizes, I think the smallest I've every had was a Bell-ans for Indigestion, Vest pocket tin. 3/4 x 1" in size. Advertisng tins were also made in many different shapes. Cigarettes came in rectangular shaped tins, many tea tins are square. Figural tins in numerous shapes, everything from animals to cars, are hard to come across.

Coffee tins are a nice collectible and great to hold things, Band tins are also pretty neat. Maybe you have an old printers tray, many small advertising tins are available to fill it. Collectible medicine and other drugstore related tins are also very collectible.Some of the harder tins to find are the one that old razors
came in, the earlier oyster tins are also tough to come by. Vintage advertising tins can run from a couple of dollars up to thousands for some of the rarest tins. Just recently an Austin Powder Co. Blasting Cap tin sold for over $10,000 at auction.

Advertising tins, because of their original use, often have scratches, dents, even a little rust, so don't let a few imperfections scare you off. But like most collectibles the nicer they are the more desirable. Many of the more recent tins are also collectible, more for the look than the value. Beware of repos of the older tins.

Collectibles, Rolling Pins & Razors

Good day all,
Glad I decided not to do a market yesterday (Sunday) it ended up in the 90's. But went out and sold on Friday, nice weather and pretty busy. Also bought some stuff, advertising tins, postcards, some old razors and other goodies. Hit a few yard sales on Saturday bought a few things for the September auction and other odds and ends. Sunday seeing that we didn't sell, I turned on the AC and took photos and added some merch to the shops.
Still working on what's hot and what's not. Still confused :-). Guess I'll just keep buying what I like, advertising tins, early kitchenware, old razors and postcards among other things. This way if it doesn't sell I can live with them. Might not eat, but will be surrounded by neat stuff.

A nice Segal safety razor, has neat flip-top blade holder. TTO. Has some of the gold flaking on the ends of top cap.but doesn't really look like it has much use if any. Vintage (empty) one pound keywind "Kathryn Beich, Golden Crumbles" candy tin. 1960's era. 3-1/2" tall, 5" in diameter. Price includes USA shipping.

Vintage razors, rolling pins and collectibles

Ah, it's been some nice weather around here for the last week, a few warmer days but mostly just nice days. Got a few markets in last weekend, sorta busy and sales were ok. Also and did some buying at the markets and at a few yard sales. No show stoppers but neat stuff.
Still don't know what's hot, so I bring a wide variety of goodies and it averages out. Shops have picked up a little also, maybe a sign of good season coming up.

Silvplt-019 Small Silverplate Box
A small silverplate box with hinged lid, has a raised relief design of rural life in early country life. Similar to the small mirrors that are around marked Denmark. But this has a mark on the latch that I can't read all of it ?LPLA??. 1-1/4 high x 2-3/4 inches long. Great condition. Price includes USA shipping.

Antique Kitchenware, Vintage Shaving Items

Welcome to Collectibles at Country Joe's.

We have just completed combining our Paper and Postcards shop with our collectibles shop. Actually they are separate shops but now share the same shopping cart and search features. Should make it easier to shop in both shops and also easier on this end as orders, inventory control will work from the same place.

Antique double blade food chopper with cast iron handle. Blades are removable. Blades are 5-3/4 wide and spaced approx. 1-3/8 inches apart. A great addition to your country kitchen collection.

Vintage Foster Bros. meat cleaver with wooden handle. The blade is about 6-1/4 inch, total length of cleaver is approx. 13 inches. Marked Foster Bros. and looks like a 66. Blade is clean. Price includes USA shipping.

A nice sterling silver and turquoise Indian design bracelet. Notice the characters. About 7/8" at the widest. Marked sterling, great condition. Price includes USA shipping.


Ster-001 Silver Cake Knife, Austria - Hungary
A nice silver cake knife. I believe the marks are from Austria - Hungary - Poland area and is .800 silver (Not Sterling). Hallmarked with 'head with wreath' facing right, looks like a '3' behind and 'A' in front of the head. Other mark is 4 leaf clover. Length is 10-1/2", condition is nice, no problems.
