Been sorta warm around here but real real hot, just enough to make me stay out of the sun. So I have been taking pictures, writing up stuff and adding to the shop. The graniteware selection is looking good. Shop slowly getting filled up for the holiday season, now lets hope people have money to spend.

Some how I accumulated another load of stuff Monday and will probably put some in the shop and will head to the market with some of it on Friday and Sunday, both days look ok weather wise.

Also have been getting goodies together for the auction on the 8th of September.

GW-051 Small Vintage Graniteware Bucket, Child's Pail
A small grey graniteware pail with wire bail handle. The little bucket is 2-5/8 inches high and 3-3/4 inches in diameter. It does have about a 1/2 inch rust spot inside. Possibily a child's pail or berry bucket. Tough size to come by. Great addition to your vintage enamelware display.


GW-052 Vintage Round Graniteware Pan
Vintage round graniteware pan, 8-1/2 inches in diameter and 3-1/4 inches in height. Has small spot insode and chip in the enamel on the bottom. Sorta normal from usage.


GW-073 Graniteware Eight Cup Muffin Pan
Vintage eight cup graniteware muffin pan. Top is in nice condition, the bottom shows lots of baking, but no damage. Some minor chipping of the enamel on one corner and edge. 7-1/4 x 14-1/2 inches, cups are 3 inches in diameter. Great addition to your country kitchen. Has hole to hang on the wall.


GW-054 Grey Enamelware Potty, Childs
Vintage graniteware potty, child size about 4 inches high and 7-3/4 inches in diameter, outer edge of flange. Has patrial label from the Lafayette Stamping and Enameling Co. (West Lafayette, Ohio). Condition is average with a chip in the enamel on the inside and on the outside. Nice addition to you graniteware collection.


GW-056 Small Graniteware Sauce Pan
Small graniteware sauce pan the bowl is 5-1/4 inches in diameter at top, has a molded in pouring lip. Handle is about 4-3/4 inches long with hang hole. Has one small chip in the enamel on the bottom, couple very tiny ones on the rim. These smaller pieces seem to be harder to find. Great addition to your country kitchen collection.

Vintage potato masher with red wooden handle, a few small chips in the paint. About 9 inches long. Nice kitchen collectible.


CT-003 Early Ideal Coffee Tin / Can
An early Ideal Coffee tin with screw off lid. One pound size. Roasted and Packed by Wilkinson, Gladdis & Co. Newark, N.J. (Bought by A&P in the early 1940's. About 6-1/2 inches tall. Really nice condition, few minor scrapes. Great addition to your kitchen or coffee tin collection.


Adv-305 Atlas Penetrating Oil Can
A vintage Atlas Penetrating Oil can (empty) with long spout. 8 oz. size. About 7 inches to tip of spout. Average condition.


DS-005 Rawleigh's Antiseptic Salve Tin
Vintage round tin, Rawleigh's Antiseptic Salve (empty). About 3-3/4 inches in diameter, 5 ounce size. Nice addition to your drugstore tin collection. Average condition. PRICE INCLUDES USA SHIPPING.

Dover Sleeve Iron, Early Hills Bros. Coffee Tin, Graniteware,

Up in the 90's yesterday around here, no interesting yard sales in the paper so I only went out around lunchtime to get a couple of shakes. Nothing like a milk shake on a 90 degree day. :-)
Decided not to do the market today after last weeks slowness, actually August is one of the worst months around here for selling. Getting near the end of vacation time, last weekends for the beaches, boardwalks etc. Well there are are still a few more but as back to school gets closer it's get stuff done before school opens plus money being spent on school stuff etc. So I worked on the next pile of stuff to list.

A few recent additions to the shop last week.


Kit-015 Vintage Dover Sleeve Iron, Removable Handle
A small vintage Dover Sleeve Iron with removable handle black handle and cover. The locking part also has a black wooden knob. The iron part is 5 inches long and marked Dover Sleeve Iron, Made USA. Average used condition. Neat addition to your vintage kitchen or laundry room collection.


Kit-016 Small Asbestos Sad Iron, Removable Handle
Vintage Asbestos Sad Iron with removable cover and handle. Has a black wooden handle and also black wood piece on the locking part. The iron is marked Asbestos Sad Iron and is about 4 inches long. Nice kitcheware or laundry collectible. Many people also collect them as child's irons. Average used condition.


TToy-004 Tootsietoy Kitchen Sink (Tootsie Toy)
Vintage metal Tootsietoy wall mount kitchen sink, green with gold faucets, two support legs. There are two tiny holes in the back to mount to the wall. (not original). About 3-1/2 inches wide and 2-1/4 inches high. Otherwise nice condition. Marked Tootsie Toy on back.


CT-001 Early Hills Bros. 2-1/2 lbs Coffee Tin
An early Hills Bros. 2-1/2 pound coffee can, Red Can Brand. Not a keywind opening can, regular can opener type. The lid on it is just for display (looks good so I left it on). The can is 8 inches tall and 5 inches in diameter. © 1922, Hills Bros. San Francisco, Calif. USA. Nice condition, minor scrapes etc. Slight rust showing around the bottom rim. Very hard size to find.


Kit-012 Rollman Food Chopper No. 11
A small vintage cast iron food chopper with a wooden knob on crank handle. It is marked Rollman Food Chopper No. 11 - Rollman Mfg. Co., Mt. Joy, PA. U.S.A. It measures 6 inches tall and the blades are 1-1/4 inches. Nice condition. Great addition to your vintage kitchenware collection.


GW-010 Grey and White Mottled Enamelware Steamer
Vintage 3 piece grey and white mottled graniteware steamer. The bottom part and strainer are double handled. Approx 12 inches across handles and about 9 inches in height. Only way I can describe the condition is 'great'. A super addition to your vintage graniteware or kitchenware collection.


GW-016 Graniteware Ashtray
A vintage grey graniteware, enamelware ashtray. The ashtray is about 5-3/4 inches in diameter. Condition is very nice with a few tiny chips in the enamel.

Collectible Stuff add to the shop

Figured we would go the the flea market to sell some goodies this morning and maybe pickup a few things. Well, I ended up buying about 65 pieces of graniteware, a few nice early coffee tins and a box of other assorted items. So now it was time to set up due to empty pocketitis and start pushing out the stuff that I brought with me, now that I was in a minus position. Of course the buyers weren't working with me but I did manage to get some of their money. One of those sell stuff to turn cash days, but managed to get rid of a few boxes of not sure why I had it stuff. Love selling that stuff. It got to about the high 80's and I was set up facing the sun, which I normally don't do but I got there a few minutes late most the other spots were taken. The crowd thinned early and I was out of there before noon. Came home dragged my new purchases into the house, sat down had a bowl of ice cream and started digging in the new goodies. Guess I'll start adding some to the shop tomorrow, not going anywhere, they're talking 90's, a/c will be on.

Vintage tin Mabex Vaporizer, Kills Moths. Originaly contained Paradichlorobenzene but now empty. Actually when I got it there was potpourri in it. About 3-1/2 inches in diameter with little hook to hang. Still has oringial 20¢ F.W. Wollworth tag on it. Average condition. Nice addition to your general store or vintage housewares collection. G-065 6 Anchor Hocking Boopie Sherbets
A nice set of six Anchor Hocking Boopie sherbets, similiar to Imperial's Candlewick pattern. Approx. 3-1/2 inches tall. All in very nice condition, no chips or cracks. PRICE INCLUDES USA SHIPPING.

Antique Copper Tea Kettles, Old Postcards

Went to the market on Sunday, I know not why. They changed the weather forecast to possible showers and it seemed to have rained here and there so I was told by some people who showed up. After wandering around a bit and buying some stuff, I decided to set up even though it looked a little shakey in the sky. Figured I'd just use one table and grabbed the boxes closest to the back of the van. Bad move, those that did come out to shop were those of the dollar mentality and what I put out was mostly in the $10 - $20 range. Sold a few things to some of the regulars and then hung out fighting off the "I'll give ya's" and the other lower level buyers who grab their chest and make noises if the price is like over $3.00. I mean like why would I want more than a couple of bucks for a cut glass pitcher or a Lenox plate or a 14K gold ring. Anyhow It wasn't a very profitable day, not lots of fun either. Shouda just kept walking and buying. Oh well another day in the life of a market seller.

Kit-053 Copper Tea Kettle, Dovetailed, Goose Neck Spout
Nice vintage copper tea kettle with goose neck spout. There is dovetailing on the side and around the base. The lid has been repaired, final resoldered on a long time ago. Uprights of the handle are brass as is the finial. Inside is tinned. Tea kettle is 6 inches in diameter at the base and tapers out to about 7-1/2 inches. Height to top of hollow handle is about 10-1/2 inches. Doing a little research it seems to be early 1900's possibily from England. Has a few dings and dents from use. Nice addition to your country kitchen.


Kit-054 Antique Dovetailed Copper Tea Kettle
Antique copper tea kettle with riveted and soldered goose neck spout and inverted acorn finial. Probably late 1800's with dovetailing on side and bottom. Inside is tinned. The handle and the rim that lid fits into has been resoldered way back when. Has hollow copper hand grip. Tea kettle is 7 inches in diameter at the base and tapers out to about 8-1/2 inches and is about 12 in height. Has a few dings, pitting and dents from use. Great piece to hang by the fireplace.

Hey, a few more weeks and it's auction time again at Country Joe's Auction.

Hi all, well we were off to the market again on Friday, sold for a few hours and got out before the heat. Pretty much dealer action early, sold a bunch of stuff, paper and postcards, silverplate flatware, some glass and a bunch of misc jibberish. Love getting rid of the jibberish. Wasn't to much to buy although I only wandered around for a little while. Was more interested I making room in the van. Had a few empty boxes in the end, that's progress.

Going to the market tomorrow (Sunday), weather looks good in the 70's. Added a bunch of glass that has been hanging around to the load in the truck. What doesn't sell tomorrow will get put with the pile o' stuff in storage which will be auctionbound in a few weeks. Maybe I can buy some treasures early in the morning. Actually might spend an extra hour wandering around and foraging for goodies. Ya never know.

While roaming around the house the other day I ran into a stash of old rug beaters, so I added them to the shop.
