Well we made it to Christmas 2010, now gotta work on Xmas 2011.

Did something completely different yesterday (Christmas Day), actually took a day off. Really, just answered a few emails in the morning. This is not easy for one who never takes a day off. Hung out on the couch, drank coffee, read the paper and a few magazines. Put on my robe because it was a little chilly and became a cat magnet. They sure like sleeping on a robe if your in it or not. Had a plate of manicotti (good Irish Christmas meal) for midday dinner, bowl of ice cream later. Some popcorn etc.

Snow is starting to accumulate out there, they're calling for a bunch of snow as the day goes on.

Guess I have to come up with some New Years resolutions this week, ones that I might actually keep. Hmmm?

Got some items together, took photos and added them to the shop. Got lots of stuff piled up to work on this week.

August 1989 issue of Life magazine, Woodstock: Where are they now? Volume 12, No. 9. Two decades after the great hippie happening, Life catches up to some of the people who were there. Great photos of the current volcanic eruption in Hawaii. etc. Average condition.

Vintage Gillette Tech safety razor with solid ball end handle, razor is gold plated. Has Gillette logo etched on top plate. No date code, pre 1951. Uses standard double edge blades. Nice pre-owned condition.


Gem Single Edge Safety Razor Featherweight
Gem single edge safety razor silver colored with gold top cover, ivory colored plastic handle. Featherweight. Flip open top, marked Gem Razor inside. Has 'G' in circle on handle. Gem was made by American Safety Razor Corp., Brooklyn, NY. Nice used condition. Includes USA shipping.

Renwal Dollhouse Furniture, Lawson Wood, Comical Monkey Pictures

Wandered down to where the van is parked (at the end of our quad) and nosed around a bit to see what I could pull out to add to the shop. Got a few things but the four or five plastic tubs that I dug through was mostly flea market type stuff. Not doing the markets and not having the auction anymore doesn't help.

Plus I figure by the time I get through my storge unit probably by the spring there will probably be a mini van full of market type stuff. Either have to find an auction that wants a bunch of tray and box lot stuff or someone who needs a load of market stuff. Guess I'll worry about that then.

Added about a dozen small framed Lawson Wood, Comical Monkey Pictures to the shop. These are pretty neat.

Gillette 'NEW' Safety Razor Short Comb
Vintage Gillette 'NEW' safety razor short comb with thick bar handle, gold plated. Top piece has the bar that fits in blade slot of lower plate. 1930's. Top plate has some discoloration. Still nice usable razor. Takes standard double edge blades.

Gillette Tuckaway travel safety razor, gold plated. Short 2-1/2 in. handle, Pat. Jan. 13, 1920 on end. Uses regular double edge blades. Nice pre owned condition.

Chickencock Whiskey Bottle, 1947 Slinky, Wilcox Crittenden Compass, Gillette Razors

Not a real good start of the day Sunday, cup of coffee got spilled on the keyboard. Not a good idea, especially with sugar. Cleaned it up as much as possible but after a while several keys were sticking and a few didn't work at all. Then it was off to my storage unit to dig out a backup keyboard, turns out it was in the bottom box, behind two piles of other stuff. Dug it out and we're back in business. Other keyboard got a bath and is drying out for a few days.

We then got back on track and got stuff together to add to the shop.

Chickencock Pure Rye Whiskey Bottle
Vintage Chickencock clear glass bottle embossed with a chicken, a honey cone pattern, front reads, 'Chickencock Pure Rye Whiskey', the bottle is about 7-1/2 inches, aluminum screw cap. Great addition to your collection.

Gillette Old Type Safety Razor E882121 / 1918
Vintage 'Old Type' Gillette safety razor with Serial No.E882121 dates it to 1918 . Three piece razor, top guard has three studs, center one is threaded for handle. Used 3 hole blades, but standard double edge fit. Small stress crack at top of handle which is common in this type razor. Pat,. Nov 15 '04 on handle. Nice used condition.

Vintage 1955 Gillette Super Speed safety razor with date code A-4. Flared end turn to open knob, uses standard double edge blades, Very nice used condition.

Wilcox Crittenden Compass Wood Case - Box
A vintage Wilcox Crittenden gimbeled compass in wooden finger jointed case with sliding cover. Compass has a black finish with white dial. WC mark on dial. Original label is inside but hard to read. Box is 4-3/4 x 4-3/4 x 3-3/8 inches in size. Very nice condition.

Vintage Slinky toy in the original red / white box. Box marked Copyright 1947 James Ind. Inc. Has directions printed on one side. Box has wear and one corner taped a long time ago. One inside flap is off but in the box. Great addition to your vintage toy collection.

Truck loaded for the flea market tomorrow, maybe get rich, maybe not. Weather should be nice.
Starting Saturday looks like we're heading back up to the 90's +. Guess I'll get a lot of shop work done here in the A/C.

Old Excelsior six lever working padlock with key. Padlock is 2 x 3 inches in size. Great addition to your lock collection.

Got the lock at the flea market last week, thought i might have a key, first key I tried worked.

April 1949 appointment pad advertising 'Field and Flint Co., Brockton, Mass. Foot Joy and Dr. M.W. Looke Shoes for Men' Pad is in a leather pocket folder, Has 1949 calendar inside and has notes jotted on pad. 4 x 6-3/4 inches. Nice advertising piece.

Ok now it's summer, 88* here at the moment. Glad I went up to my storage unit earlier today to unload from the weekend markets and started to load up for my auction on Saturday. They are calling for rain Friday so figured I get it done earlier in the week.
Looks like a lot of neat stuff coming into to the sale Saturday.

Flat Yale key probably for a document or cash box. Has '7' on one side. Approx. 2-1/8 inches long.


Vintage Six Lever Padlock Key
Vintage six lever padlock key. Hollow barrel. Total length is 1-9/16 inches.


Nickel Plated Cabinet Key
Vintage nickel plated cabinet key with fancy bow. Hollow barrel. Total length is 2-1/4 inches.
