Well after a few days of rainy type weather it's nice out there again. While hanging around in the hospital a couple of weeks ago had lot's of time to think about ideas for the shops and now if I can remember some of them and get to doing them, that's the hard part. Need to start getting an advertising campaign together and also weed out the non-selling stuff. Possibily cut back on the glass and china and concentrate on the stuff I know better such as advertising collectibles, vintage kitchenware, country stuff and paper, ephermera etc. Also start working on the postcards and all that little collectible stuff I have.
Have been getting some items listed and other work done in the Country Joe's Collectible Stuff shop.
Added a bunch of photos from the 1960's of some New York - Staten Island Ferry Boats; also a bunch of vintage photos and a few CDV's. Other items added: Oven Serve Custard Cup; Jackson China Custard Cup; Pretty Miss Hair Nets; Metropolitan Cook Book 1925; Stanley Slide Rule Booklet 1939; 14K White Gold Cross etc.
Still not sure if the
Ebay Store is worthwhile or not. Not selling much, but not losing any money either. Ebay is a strange place. You can get a lot of traffic with the auctions (I said traffic, not always buyers). Problem is auction items are only on 7 - 10 days. Sometimes an item will go for much more than you were expecting. But with average stuff you can get your butt kicked. I guess the solution is to deal in only rare and hard to find stuff, but that ain't easy.
In the Ebay shops items are on longer but less traffic. And you have to know how much you want. Listing in the E-shops is cheaper but final value fees are higher and when you figure in Paypal fees it does get into the profits. This business sure was a lot easier 10 - 20 years ago.
Gotta get to work an Saturdays auction too. Okay, back to work before I have to fire myself.
See ya later, Country Joe
