Hey, a few more weeks and it's auction time again at Country Joe's Auction.

Went to the market on Sunday setup and sold until about noonish. Lot's of "I give ya" and "Oh, that's to much" people out there. God bless the early morning dealers who actually are there to buy. Probably should only setup for about 2 hours but ya gotta get rid of the other "came with the load stuff". That's where the tire kickers come in, if it's like super cheap they will actually take a few dollars out of their pocket. But only a few, if it's like 10 bucks or more they start to breathe funny and shake. "Oh no, to much money, I give you a dollar" they gasp as they start to wobble away. But after 35-40 years in this business I usually can come up with a good response, they don't always like it but I'm not going to get a lot richer with their dollar. Especially if it's something I paid $5 for and I know it's worth 10 or maybe 20. Oh well so is life at the markets.

Meanwhile I added some milk bottles and other collectibles to the shop.


Van-008 Vintage Enameled Compact, Marcasite Decoration
Nice vintage enameled compact with marcasite decoration on the top. Sort of an off-white or cream color. There is a compartment behind the metal mirror and another in the bottom of the compact. The compact is about 1-3/4 inches square. There is a small discolored spot on the lid to the right of the marcasite decoration.


Light-027 Winged Wheel Oil Lantern
A vintage tin lantern about 7-1/2 inches tall (excluding handle). Marked Winged Wheel (with logo) No. 350 on the base. Made in Japan. Has wick and the wick rises and lowers, glass globe is good, has bail handle. Original tank cap with Winged Wheel logo. Does have some light surface rust from sitting. Nice little lantern for your collection.

Old Alert watchmans clock key and wall mounted iron box. Has tag 'Alert Hardinge Watchmans Portable Clock Station 4'. Approx. 2 x 4 inches in size. Neat collectible for those that need odd stuff.

Vintage milk bottle, one quart round embossed Port Murray Dairy Co. Port Murray, N.J. On back Country Bottled Milk. Nice condition, no chips or cracks.

Vintage round one quart Borden's milk bottle. Property of Borden's Condensed Milk Co. Gail Borden Eagle Brand logo. On back: Bordens 1 Qt. Nice condition, no chips or cracks.

Adv-332 Clover Brand Milk Bottle, Va. Quart
Vintage one quart round Clover Brand milk bottle. Embossed with a clover, Clover Brand Dairy Products. On base: Clover Cry. Co. Radford, Va. Nice condition, no chips or cracks.

GW-008 Antique Graniteware Pitcher
Antique graniteware pitcher, approx. 5-1/2 inches to top of pouring lip. Manufacturers mark on bottom. Does have a few spots of chipped enamel on the bottom and on the rim. White spots are reflections. Nice addition to your vintage enamelware, graniteware collection.
