Vintage Advertising Thermometers, Old Bottles

Well I listened to the weatherman last night, he said cloudy in the morning, showers in the afternoon. Added some items to the load in the truck and figured I'd make part of the day at the market. Got there about 6am and it was drizzling a bit, about twelve other dealers were there waiting to see what was going to happen. A few even had some merchandise out on the tables. Walked and talked for about an hour and decided that it had stopped raining, put two items out and the rain came. Guess they were rain attracters. Put them back in the truck and sat inside for a while as it rained harder. After a bit I decided time to go back home and have that second cup of coffee. Figures customers would get up see the rain and change thier plans. Got almost home and it sorta stopped raining but not quite all the way. About and hour later it stopped. Unproductive morning. Decided to add stuff to the shop, took a break and here I am.

Here's a few new items added to the shop yesterday.


Welch's Jelly Glass, Tweety and Sylvester
Vintage Welch's Jelly glass with Tweety, Sylvester. I Tawt I taw a puddy tat! Shows grandma whacking Sylvester who was trying to net Tweety as he came down the slide. 1974 Warner Bros. Has Yosemite Sam in bottom of the glass.

Vintage advertising thermometer Grand View Dairy / Homogenized Milk / Passic, New Jersey / Phone Prescott 7-3823. Plastic, approx. 6-1/4 incnes long. Nice dairy collectible.


M.H. Mann Variety Store Undertaking Advertising Thermometer
Vintage heavy cardboard advertising thermometer, M.H. Mann / General Merchandise / Waterville, Vermont / Variety Store Undertaking (good combination!) / Phone 17-11. Originally had a small calendar attached. Looks 1930's deco era. Gold and black. 7-7/8 inches long.

Man Woman Playing Chess Silhouette - Thermometer
Vintage siilhouette of man and woman playing chess I believe, has thermometer on the left. mounted in approx. 4-1/8 x 5-1/8 inch metal frame. Marked on back, R.B.Twiss, Roscoe, N.Y. Phone 50. Does have some water damage.

Vintage medicine bottle embossed Barrington's Pharmacy, 42 Main Street, Mt. Holly, N.J. Also has 3XVI near the shoulder. Approx. 9 inches tall and 3-1/4 inches wide. Small chip on the lip.

Antique blob top aqua beer bottle embossed Nichols & Nippins / Mt. Holly N.J. On back 'This Bottle Not To Be Sold'. About 9-1/4 inches tall. Minor lip damage and cloudly.

Vintage CherO cola bottle, embossed with twist design 1923-1934 era. Embossed Columbus, Ga. on the back. On bottom Dsn Pat'd Feb.16 1924 LGW. Small chip near base.


Squeeze Soda Bottle, Bayonne, N.J.
Vintage Squeeze soda bottle with boy and girl sitting on bench. Tirney Beverages, Bayonne, N.J. 7oz. size. No damage other than wear on pyro, but bottle needs cleaning. Probably from the 1950's.
