Sterling Sombrero, Lenox Egg Cups, Salt and Peppers

Hey we got to a small bunch of yards sales yesterday (Saturday) bought some stuff, not a lot but some goodies. Wasn't as hot as Friday so wandering around for a while was ok.

Got to the market this morning, was very muggy but not raining so that was a plus. Weather page showed poss. showers maybe around 10am but even though it looked like it several times it never rained. But I guess the chance of rain held some shoppers back, plus August is never a good month for me at the markets. People busy with other stuff, shop dealers sorta holding back due the fact shops sales are off during the summer and this year with the economy they're not sure how much stock they want on hand for the fall - winter months. Are people going to buy? Antiques and collectibles are not something everybody needs. But I'm still buying anyway, it's in my blood.

Anyway slim pickings this morning and sorta slow sales for the day but did move out some old stock stuff (at discount prices) that I didn't really want to be holding anyway.

Did I mention that we recently bought a collection of vintage salt and pepper shakers? Yeah think I did, so mjore have been added to the shop.

Dachshund Salt and Pepper Shakers, Rhinestone Eyes
Pair of Dachshund salt and pepper shakers with rhinestone eyes. They are about 5-1/4 inches long. One is black and white the otheris brown and white. Nice condition. Not marked, probably had Japan stickers. Actually look like Lefton with the rhinestone eyes.

Vintage Ears of Corn Salt Pepper Shakers, Florida
A pair of vintage ears of corn salt and pepper shakers, Florida souvenirs. About 3-1/2 inches tall. Have Japan paper labels. Nice condition.

Kissing Bride, Groom on Bench Salt Pepper Shakers
Vintage kissing bride and groom sitting on wooden bench salt and pepper shakers. Approx. 4-1/2 inches tall. Bride has cloth veil and spagetti trim on hem of gown. Shakers have oval paper Japan stickers. Nice condition.

Peanut Clowns Salt Pepper Shakers
A pair of neat little vintage peanut clowns, wearing green outfits and reddish brown shoes. Approx. 3-1/4 inches tall. Nice condition.


Anthropomorphic Jogging Frying Pans Salt Pepper Shakers
Neat set of vintage anthropomorphic pink jogging frying pans. They are about 4-1/2 inches tall. Have Japan paper labels. Nice condition.

Gillette Super Speed, Silver Tip 1970
Gillette Super Speed with black handle and silver tip. Has date code P-4, 1970. Has some wear on the handle. Razor is TTO, uses regular double edge blades.

Gillette Super Speed, Blue Tip 1955
Gillette Super Speed razor with blue tip for a mild beard. Has A-2 date code 1955. TTO knob, uses regular double edge blades. Missing a little blue on the high points of knob. Nice used condition.

Gillette Super Speed Safety Razor
Vintage Gillette Super Speed safety razor, no date code but is notched for blade dispenser, 1948 - 1950. Uses regular double edge blades. Nice used condition.

Nice little Lenox Autumn Leaf egg cup, tall feathery leaves design. The egg cup is 3in. high and is 2 1/4 wide. In excellent condition. Has gold Lenox mark.

Sterling Silver Sombrero Dish, Souvenir, Mexico
Vintage sterling silver sombrero with finely detailed repousse floral designs. The brim is 5-1/4 inches in diameter and hat is about 2-1/2 in. high. Marked '.925 Mexico'. Condition is nice no problems, original patina. Probably from the 1950's.
