Souvenir Spoons, Vintage Spice Boxes, Collectibles

Got to the flea market Sunday morning about 5am, only a few dealers hanging around, I figured there would be an early bunch because weather forecast was good. Wandered around lots of empty tables then a little before 7am it started to get a little light and dealers started streaming in. Not much later the market was full. Got set up and had some action early then there was a dead spot for a while so wandered about again and bought some stuff, hey someones gotta keep the economy going. About 9:30 business picked up and I stayed until about 2pm. Took my time packing which always seems to be a good selling time.

Worked on some purchases Monday, did a post office run and then added some items to the shop. Figure I'll try to get a bunch of goodies into the shop this week, maybe we'll have a Christmas holiday rush this year and it will all sell, probably not. Added another bunch of vintage road maps to the shop plus other items. Ok, back to work now, got lottsa stuff to add.

A nice booklet showing Westmoreland Glass Company Handmade Reproductions of Early American Glass, copyright 1950. Contains 31page of photos and descriptions. Approx. 3-3/4 x 9 inches in size. A great reference book. Cover looks like it has coffee cup rings on it, inside nice condition.

A nice group of vintage souvenirs, why travel to all those places when you can just by souvenirs. Reminds me of an older lady who use to buy a lot of odd souvenirs at the flea market years ago. She said they were all displayed all around her house and people thought she was a world traveler, she was never out of New Jersey in her life. But she read a lot and had stories about all the souvenirs.

Vintage souvenir shoe, pincushion from the Woolworth Building N.Y. Has image of the Woolworth Bldg on the crest on front of shoe. Made of a white metal, has wear on the brass color but still a nice collectible.


Atlantic City, N.J. Sterling Silver Souvenir Spoon
Small sterling silver souvenir spoon from Atlantic City, N.J. Has view of the boardwalk at top of handle. Spoon is 3-1/2 inches long. Marked sterling. Very nice condition.

Halloween PEZ, Airplane Pull Toy, Zerone Anti-Freeze Can, Collectibles

Beautiful day out there at the flea market Sunday, lots of dealers, good crowd of customers and many actual buyers! Took a short walk around, agian was more into selling than buying, have an auction this Saturday and wanted to move out some nonsense to make room in the truck and organize what was heading for the auction. Made up some tray lots etc.

Bought a few things during the day including a small collection of ashtrays (30), some advertising, some assorted Trenton area pottery ones and some other neat ones and some duds.

After we went food shopping and mailed some packages out, spent some time taking photos, adding a few Halloween Pez dispensers to the shop and washing 30 ashtrays. Oh, got a picture hung in the living room and Jan got a few more boxes of my vintage tins etc. back in the cabinet they were set up it.

Okay back to writing up some stuff to add tomorrow or later tonight.
