Instead of going out trick or treating tonight I decided to stay home this Halloween and work on the blog. Bad point is I didn't get no candy :-(

Sort of strange assortment of items added to the shop the last few days. As I dig into boxes from THE ZILLION ITEM HOARD strange things appear. Sometimes I wonder why I had some of this stuff in the first place. But a packrat has no game plan or rules to follow.

A little silver plated pill box or such with scene of man serenading two ladies on the lid. Box is also decorated with flowers etc. four sides. Approx. 1/2 x 1-1/8 x 1-5/8 inches in size. Average condition.

Misc-019 Octagon Shaped Metal Box
Small octagon shaped chrome or silver plated box with EGPC on the lid. Inside has a gold color finish. Looks like it could have held a small pocket watch at one time. But that's just a guess. About 2-1/8 inches across and 5/8 inches high.

Vintage pea huller and bean slicer made by the Vaughan Mfg. Co., Chicago Ill. Made of diecast metal which clamps to your counter hulls peas or slices beans and other veggies. Green wooded knob on crank handle. About 10 inches long. Very neat gadget for your vintage kitchen.

Nice wooden crate Ensign Brand Santa Clara Prunes. 'Santa Clara Prunes' on one long side and Ensign Brand / Santa Clara / 50 - 60 Prunes / Rosenberg Bros. & Co. / California - USA on one end panel. 15-1/2 x 9-3/4 x 6 inches in size. Nice solid box, good bottom. Great country store item.

Metal-004 Crescent Wood Stove, Salesman Sample Size
Nice vintage cast iron Crescent wood cooking stove, salesman sample or child's toy. Marked Crescent on the front door. Removable open-work side tray and a warming tray on the right hand side also removable. The front oven door opens, has tin bottom fire box. Approx 13-1/2 in to top of chimney pipe. Marked Made in U.S.A. on back. The stove has been repainted.

An old Western Electric telephone lightning surge protector, these were usually found earlier houses. The porcelain base is 3-5/8 x 4- 3/4 inches. It is marked Western Electric USA. Neat item for an antique telephone collector.
