Vintage Pencil Sharpner, Old Tins, Swedish American Line Ashtray, Collectibles

**********************************
Hi all how ya be?
Getting a bit winter like here today, in the high thirties and rainy with wind. Not nice.

Luckily Sunday was nice out and we got a day in at the flea market. Chilly in the early hours but once the sun peeked over the trees it got pretty warm. Had a pretty good day not major dollars but sold a bunch of stuff that had a good profit. Found out they don't like glassware or china anymore around here unless it's almost free. Sold some nice jewelry, postcards, paper and odds and ends. Bought some old tins and photographs etc. And when I got home one of my suppliers sold me the contents of his car trunk. A little of this and some of that. Price was right.

Worked on the shop a bit Monday, took photos etc. Shipped a bunch of stuff that was sold over the weekend and decided to go to the storage unit and see about a smaller unit, not buying furniture or big stuff much anymore so I figured why pay for empty space. Going to move into the smaller unit next week. Never a dull moment around here.

The UPS man brought me a box of Renwal dollhouse furniture last night. Looks like some neat stuff, will have to start working on that soon.

Um, just realized my next consignment auction is in about a week and a half, guess I gotta dig out some goodies to sell.

A few new shop additions:

 Swedish American Line Advertising Ashtray
Swedish American Line Advertising Ashtray
Vintage porcelian advertising ashtray with the Swedish American Lines "Three Crowns" logo. Approx 4-1/2" in diameter, gold trim in the cigarette troughs is worn. Marked on bottom: Import, Specially Designed for the Swedish American Line.

The Swedish American Line was formed in 1914 to run passenger and cargo services between Gothenburg and New York. It was greatly assisted by Sweden's neutrality during the First World War when Germany's shipping services ceased. Services continued, but gradually decreased in the 1960's due to the rise in air travel. By 1970 the company concentrated mostly on cruising and in 1975 their last two ships were sold and Swedish America Line disappeared as passenger ship operators. No chips or cracks, nice ocean liner collectible. Price includes USA shipping.

Keebler Saltines Tin

How It Started : In 1865, George Wander set up his own laboratory in Bern (Switzerland) . There he produced a malt extract which for decades was to provide a vital food supplement for children and sick people. When he died, his son Albert, a pharmacist and chemist, worked to improve the product, adding other natural energizing ingredients to the malt extract. In 1904, Ovaltine was born.
