Great day out there today up in the 60's, even went out and organized the back of the van so I can go to my storage unit tomorrow and load up for Saturday's auction. Got a few plastic tubs filled on the porch for the auction also.
Oh, had to go buy a tire for the van this morning, not good. Had a tire that was making me crazy, some mornings it would be real low or flat, put air in and maybe it would be good for a week, then a few days in a row it was low or flat again. Luckily I have small plug in the cigarette lighter air pump. Anyway I looked at the tire with a flashlight moved it forward etc. and checked every inch of it for a nail or something, left it on the van because I really wasn't into taking that little donut tire thing out from under the van and changing it. To cold plus that donut has been under there since the van was made in 1998. Bolts looked rusty etc. But I noticed the other day that everytime it went flat the valve stem was at the bottom, had to be a reason. So I looked closer and on the side of the tire that was no showing there was a small cut in the wall, seems when it was parked with the valve stem at the bottom the cut opened slightly and there was a tiny leak. That's why it took all night to go flat. If it was parked with the cut not at the bottom it was tight enough to hold air. Mystery solved, tire replaced.
Many years ago when I had a gas station with had a similiar vexing problem with a customers tire when car was parked no problem, but if they drove a long distance they got a flat. Turned out the valve stem had a slight split, when parked it held air, when they drove centrifugal force opened the tiny crack and air leaked out.
Added a bunch of souvenir spoons to the shop the other day, listed below. Also added a pile of other stuff (tomorrows post).
I decided to give my Eclectic Collectibles Forum another shot, but am going to need members to come and post, reply etc. So if you have a shop that you want to plug stop by add a link, post a little blip. Got question about collectibles, come on over.
In our hunt for a replacement online auction to get away from FEE BAY we started to list a few items on SeeAuctions. Our stuff will be here Country Joe's / SeeAuctions. Don't know how it will work out but there are times we like to put stuff on auction or just want to clear out things a bit. And maybe turn a little cash.
